Family Empathy
Biba is a great mom! When we reach a place where his daughters like having fun, she first spends some time exploring with them before sitting down to watch over them all time long. Biba has demonstrated that a female Akita in a family setting fully embraces maternal behaviors all live long. There is a deep feeling and a strong respect for hierarchies between them, which is why they have such love and harmony. Curiously, the leader is not the mother figure but Dèa, the white daughter.
Pack behaviors
The greatness of this lupoid family lies in the rare coexistence of two alpha individuals. This particular aspect is fascinating as it signifies exceptional intelligence. Piccola displayed an alpha temperament and, in partnership with Déa, created a balance by taking turns in leadership roles, gaining the respect of the entire family. It’s quite remarkable, especially since Piccola, as a puppy, was somewhat ‘bullied’ by her sisters.
For instance, the others remain near me when we sit, whereas the pack leader distances themselves slightly. This behavior allows the leader to maintain a clearer view and to signal to approaching animals his leadership status. So, if Dea sits close to us, Piccola will position herself a bit farther away, or vice-versa. As a second example, during a walk in complete freedom, Dèa advances while Piccola takes the rear to close the pack. Even in this scenario roles can reverse; however, it is uncommon for the pack to lack a leader at the front or back.
The respect for one’s mother instead comes from a deep feeling that transcends personality. The mother always remains a role model for them, even when they become adults, except for the pack leader, who, having superior qualities, assumes the role of guide. Yet, emotionally, the leader readily displays affection for the mother and provides care when needed. Even after many years, a mother continues to perform the same actions as when the puppies were young. Even now, Biba encourage her daughters to play, permitting the two alphas free rein, even when they climb onto her back. And she does all this with immense love, the same love that radiates from her eyes as we sit by the lake, watching her daughters enjoy themselves.
Conclusions
Definitely, Biba has a big heart and a fantastic character, traits she has imparted to her offspring. Throughout six and a half years, she has not only demonstrated a steadfast and profound love for me but also the capacity to extend this love to her daughters without a hint of jealousy, embracing her role as a mother with pride and excelling in it under all circumstances. Mamma Biba.. what a big heart!
